YES 2006 - Together in Europe
The YES (Young Europeans' Seminar) is a unique annual event, offered to European exchange students participating in the YFU exchange program within Europe . This means that each year YES has around 400 participants representing over 20 different nationalities! The seminar consists of four days of workshops, lectures, panel discussions and many free time activities in a beautiful campsite nearby Berlin. YES aims to promote discussion of current European issues in several ways based on the exchange experience each participant shares with one another. The YES is organized by international volunteers who use large parts of their free time to make this event a success.
The YES also provides you as an YFU program participant with an interesting and educational activity that enhances your exchange experience and encourages you and all the other participants to understand yourselves as young Europeans with responsibilities and opportunities in a changing interdependent world. In addition, the event wants to make all the participants aware that finishing the exchange year or semester is definitely not an end! It can be the starting point of a learning process in the field of intercultural understanding, democratic involvement and social responsibility - as well as a kick-off for a bright future in the world of understanding cultural differences.
The YES is honoured to be also part of the Council of Europe´s All Different - All Equal -campaign.
