FOOD
Please indicate all dietary restrictions and/or allergies you have in our YES Database (My Settings -> personal information -> health)
Food is passed out in two cantinas. It will be marked on your nametag to which cantina you have to go. Remember: No nametag, no food.
NAMETAG
Each of you will receive a nametag, providing you with information on your personal YES schedule, a map of the campsite, an emergency telephone number and your assigned house and room you will be sleeping in.
NAMETAGS ARE TO BE WORN VISIBLY AT ALL TIMES! It is important that we can identify you. Also, you won’t get any food in the cantinas without showing your nametag to the YES staff.
TELEPHONE
There is one coin / card phone at the site. Only Euro coins will be accepted.
MONEY
You will probably need some money to buy yourself a drink or a snack in the YES cafe, therefore you need cash in Euro. There is no possibility on the grounds to retrieve cash, and Credit Cards are not accepted – so be sure to get some cash before you arrive!
CURFEW
At 23:00 is has to be quiet on the grounds. Please respect this. There are many of your fellow students who want a good night’s sleep. If you feel like partying, the YES-cafe is just the right place for you!
ALCOHOL
Wine and beer will be sold in the YES Café. Everything else is prohibited. Liquor and other strong alcohol will be confiscated and destroyed.
In any case, we strongly advise and encourage you to drink responsibly and have an eye on yourself as well as others. We want you to be safe and healthy and of course fit for the seminar.
THE YES CAFÉ
The YES Café is the social meeting point at the YES. It will be open during free time and will offer you drinks, snacks, good music and a lot of fun. For more information go to Activities.
MOBILE PHONE
In Germany, the GSM mobile system is installed, which is the European standard. Most European mobile phones should work there. However, it might be that your personal SIM card is restricted to a single country. Check this with your network provider before you arrive to Germany.
COMPULSORY PROGRAM
After you have registered yourself in our database you registered for the entire YES program. All program topics are compulsory – that means, you have to attend all workshops, plenary sessions and other official activities on the schedule.
REMEMBER
1. You have to carry your entire luggage by yourself. If you travel by plane, remember that most airlines only accept one piece of luggage of up to 20 kg and one carry-on item up to 8 kg. Overweight luggage is very expensive!
2. You might want to buy a drink/snack at the YES Café or purchase a nice YES souvenir. For this you will need cash in Euro. As there are no ATMs on the site, and Credit Cards are not accepted, be sure to retrieve some money before you arrive!
3. We would like to stress that you need to bring a TOWEL, as there are no towels provided by the campsite. There is also a lake at the site where you can swim! Bed sheets are provided by the campsite.
4. Travel from your host country to the YES will be organized by the national YFU organization in your host country. Please contact the respective organization if you have any questions.
5. Travel from the YES back home will be organized by the national YFU organization in your home country. Please contact the respective organization if you have any questions.
