Have basic knowledge in designing and implementing e-learning content or are willing to learn and work on this topic.
Be able and ready to distribute and delegate tasks.
Have extensive experience with preparing educational activities.
Have been at the YES before as a volunteer, preferably in a Content team role.

Help organize the Prep Meetings: set goals for the meetings; prepare the agenda together with the Leadership team; lead sessions of the meetings (focusing on content) - note: the facilitation and team building of the meeting will be done by the Head of Community, so you can focus on the content sessions.
Keep in touch with your team members via e-mail, online calls, Slack, ensure enough communication between the content team is happening.
Ensure that the YES theme is integrated appropriately in all YES activities and all volunteers have a minimum understanding of the theme; check on educational goals and methodology.

This includes also taking care of the e-learning course for the EDU team as well as follow up activities. More information on the training course can be found below.
Depending on future funding requirements, oversee the development and implementation of a training course, potentially including an e-learning component, for the IGL team, working with the IGL coordinators. The Project Coordinator and the Global Office intern can support you with this.

Your tasks
“Empower to participate” Training Course co-funded by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe
The Head of Content of the YES 2026 will be one of the trainers - together with the Educational Activities Coordinators - of the parallel training course “Empower to Participate” co-funded by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe and specifically designed for the EDU team (Heads of Track and Track Leaders).
The training course aims to empower young people to overcome structural barriers in youth participation in democratic processes and become active and engaged citizens. The EDU team will be engaged in a learning process about tackling discrimination, promoting civic and democratic behaviour in young people and raising awareness on the importance of youth participation in society. The ultimate goal is to prepare new generations of young active citizens to live, prosper, and make their voices heard even in difficult times for our democracies. The EDU team, led by the Head of Content and the Educational Activities Coordinators, will have the opportunity to:
increase and strengthen the knowledge of young people - i.e. YES 2026 participants - on how to meaningfully engage in the democratic life of their communities by promoting civic and democratic behaviour and raising awareness on youth participation models.
share methods and tools for creating a tangible change in society, and to act as multipliers, while at the same time improving their own skills.
The topics addressed in this training course will be aligned with, and will help define and shape, the theme of YES 2026, which will be further refined during the first prep meeting taking place between October and November 2025.
The training course will be divided into three phases:
an e-learning course (January - May 2026) led by the Head of Content and the Educational Activities Coordinators, with the support of the Project Coordinator and the GO intern. Heads of Track might be involved in facilitating some parts of the e-learning course.
practical phase at the YES 2026 mainly through the track sessions and the Common Activity, as well as any other in-person training sessions for the EDU team.
Follow-up activities (July - October 2026): Heads of Track and Track Leaders will organise at least 1 non-formal education workshop, either in person or online, at the local level based on the Training Session Outlines (TSOs) from the YES 2026. These activities can be coordinated with YFU Member Organisations.
Please note that, in accordance with EYF requirements, the Head of Content and the Educational Activities Coordinators should ideally be from different countries. Additionally, the EYF requires that 75% of the training course participants be under the age of 30. While we strongly encourage all interested volunteers to apply, it is important that the Head of Content and the Educational Activities Coordinators take this requirement into account when selecting the Heads of Track and Track Leaders.
