Head of Content

Lead the content team into creating the most inspirational educational content possible

We are looking for a motivated and experienced YFU volunteer to co-design and implement the content at the YES 2027. You will lead the content team into creating the most inspirational educational content possible. You will be supported by the Educational Activities Coordinator and the IGL Coordinators in this endeavor.

Your team will be responsible for setting up the theme of the YES, the educational framework, the plenary programme and the IGL sessions.

The Head of Logistics, the Head of Community and the YES Project Coordinator will be by your side, composing the Leadership Team. This power team will be overseeing the entire YES, with you having the coordination role for all educational sessions at the YES.

In addition to the general volunteer requirements at the YES, you should:

  • Be highly motivated to make the YES 2027 unforgettable for students and volunteers alike!

  • Be enthusiastic about working with important topics that are outside of YFU’s immediate focus, but are very aligned with its core mission.

  • have experience leading international teams, coordinating operations online and offline.

  • be able to coach other volunteers, identify potentials and weak points, suggest improvements, and assess educational outcomes.

  • have basic knowledge in designing and implementing e-learning content or are willing to learn and work on this topic.

  • be able and ready to distribute and delegate tasks.

  • have extensive experience with preparing educational activities.

  • have been at the YES before as a volunteer, preferably in a Content team role.

  • have a very advanced level of English.

  • be available to attend the 1st prep meeting (8 - 11 October 2026), EDU prep meeting (February, depending on funding), and 2nd prep meeting (March- April, dates TBD).

About your role

  • Help select the other members of the YES 2027 Core Team.

  • Coordinate the selection of volunteers for the Content Team: revise applications, assess candidates’ competences, clarify expectations, help new volunteers integrate in the team.

  • Help organize the Prep Meetings: set goals for the meetings; prepare the agenda together with the Leadership team; lead sessions of the meetings (focusing on content) - note: the facilitation and team building of the meeting will be done by the Head of Community, so you can focus on the content sessions.

  • Keep in touch with your team members via e-mail, online calls, Slack, ensure enough communication between the content team is happening.

  • Ensure quality content and educational outcomes; coach members of the Content Team during the design, preparation and implementation of the YES activities.

  • Ensure that the YES theme is integrated appropriately in all YES activities and all volunteers have a minimum understanding of the theme; check on educational goals and methodology.

  • Depending on successful grant acquisition, oversee the development and implementation of a training course, potentially including an e-learning component. The Project Coordinator can support you with this.

  • Coordinate with the Project Coordinator for any grant requirement.

  • Contribute to the monthly Core Team check-in agenda.

  • Attend Core Team meetings and all volunteers’ meetings & facilitate daily Content Team meetings during the YES.

  • Contribute to the Final Evaluation: analyze the results of students’ and volunteers’ evaluation (together with the Leadership Team).

We will apply for grants in autumn, which will influence the YES content. At the moment, we are working on applications for training courses related to hate speech and creating counter or alternative narratives to foster more inclusion and unity in society. You can read more on the topic and this approach in the We CAN manual here that inspired this theme.

In case we are successful with our applications, the Head of Content of the YES 2027 will be one of the trainers - together with the Educational Activities Coordinator (we will also recruit a second one in that case) - of a parallel training course specifically designed for the EDU team (Heads of Track and Track Leaders).
