Media Team Coordinator
Build a media and comms plan that makes the YES echo worldwide!
Do you have a vision of the YES being a life-changing learning experience where YFUers from all around the globe get together to spark real change in the world? Can you see this shown through dynamic photos and videos and amazing storytelling? If you answered yes, this role is for you. We are looking for a person with a vision and passion for showcasing the amazing event that the YES is to the world, to the YFU community, to potential partners, funders and future exchange students.
The tasks in this role start with creating a comms strategy for the YES 2026. This is your chance to make an actionable plan for bringing your vision to life. Of course, this vision should align with the YFU Global Strategy, brand guidelines and grant requirements, and for this purpose you will receive guidance from the Comms and Advocacy specialist and the Project Coordinator at the YFU Global Office.
In 2026, YFU will celebrate its 75th anniversary, an extraordinary milestone that broadly coincides with the creation of the post-World War II global order. As the YES 2026 takes place during this special anniversary year, it is important that this aspect is reflected in the YES communication channels and media strategy, while also aligning with the overall theme of youth participation, which will be further defined during the first preparatory meeting.
Now, who brings the vision to life? This will be the task of the media team that you coordinate. They are the Social Media manager, videographer and photographer: your team mates! You will run regular meetings for the team and make sure that your team mates have what they need to excel in their roles.
In addition to the general volunteer requirements at the YES, you should:
Have been at the YES before (to fully understand the experience and purpose of the event).
Have worked with branding and content creation before.
Have experience in using Adobe tools, Canva and Capcut (or similar).
Be well organized and detail-oriented, especially in visual work.
Have experience in managing Squarespace, WordPress, Wix or similar websites.

You can be supported in this task by the Social Media Manager and receive guidance from the Project Coordinator and the Communications and Advocacy Specialist at the YFU Global Office.

Support the YES Hosts in their visual content, and producing some of the video content needed for Plenary sessions
