YES Doctor

Ensure the medical support of students and volunteers

The YES brings together around 500 participants between students and volunteers. With that many participants, we believe it is important  to have a certified doctor on-site to be able to respond and manage clinical requests and potential incidents, and emergencies at the YES.

For this role, we are seeking a volunteer with a strong sense of responsibility, confidentiality, and professionalism. As the doctor of the YES, your role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants, both volunteers and students. We trust the YES Doctor to lead by example and always remain fully alert.

In addition to the general volunteer requirements at the YES, you should:

  • Have a EU license to practice as a doctor without any restrictions

  • Be committed to giving high quality care

  • Be able to effectively communicate with others, whilst respecting patient confidentiality

  • Be prepared to dedicate one week in June for the YES 2025 and spend a few weeks preparing (i.e. going through inventory, ordering necessary medications, etc.)

  • Be fluent in German (preferably)

Please note that completing the Volunteer Feedback Form after YES 2026 is a requirement for every volunteer role. Your feedback helps us improve and create an even better experience next year.

About your role

  • Provide medical consultations at the YES

  • Keep good medical records and maintain confidentiality

  • Arrange medical supplies when requested

  • Provide volunteers and students with first aid instructions.

The Head of Logistics and the YES Project Coordinator will be by your side. You may also collaborate with the Counselors.

Your commitment will make a significant difference in ensuring a safe and successful YES for all students and volunteers.
